Realistic training
HICKAM AIR FORCE BASE, Hawaii -- Airmen from the 15th Airlift Wing fire department and medical group treat simulated wounded patients during an initial response readiness exercise here. The exercise, held Oct. 17, marks the first time the base used an actual C-130 Hercules and aircrew to increase the training's realism. The wing's search and rescue team also took part, entering the aircraft -- from the Hawaii Air National Guard's 154th Wing -- to retrieve and process "bodies." The exercise also tested the interaction between the two wings. (U.S. Air Force photo by Tech. Sgt. Shane A. Cuomo)
